Thinking back to 2020, no ordinary year. I remember the lockdowns, mask rules, economic crisis, protests, and travel bans. Families and couples were separated, many people fell sick or lost their loved ones to coronavirus. People all over the world felt lost in life, forced to contend with a new normal.
For me, It wasn’t until my mom passed, and I felt myself living in a world without her. Navigating the world without my Mom has been one of the greatest challenges.
You see, the past few years have also been my first years in my dream career. As a Real Estate professional I absolutely love what I do, I love the role that I have in my client’s life, and my day to day obligations keep me focused.
Real Estate has been my passion for some time now, but afraid that I would lose the genuine love I have for the industry, I chose not to use my career to cope through my loss. Instead I would sacrifice the “Go Hard” agenda and take time for my own healing. I decided I would take this journey one day at a time and allow myself to feel every emotion. Some days grief followed me around like my shadow, but I never lost confidence in myself or my dreams.
A few days after my mother passed away and the day of my 30th birthday that year, It was time for me to sort through her things ( a very emotional and difficult thing to do and If you ever find yourself in similar circumstance having to sort through a loved one’s belongings. I highly recommend putting effort into planning before jumping to task.)
Her nightstand was near so I started there. As I moved to open the first drawer, to my surprise I saw on top a bright red book titled “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent ”. I was puzzled but for a second all the grief and sadness went away. I remember feeling a force of happiness and encouragement.
Although I will never have the answers to when she started or if she finished, or why she was reading that book in the first place. To discover that particular book, in that moment, will always be my favorite gift to cherish. I like to think that it was a sign, my number #1 is up there in heaven making a way for me as I blaze my path becoming a global luxury real estate agent and business woman.
As Q4 is coming to end, Housing is very anxious after experiencing record high inflation, high interest rates over 7%, drastic drops in home prices and speculations on a housing crash. Yet, I can’t help but find myself feeling optimistic not only for my own professional growth but for the families, individuals and investors that I will help to acquire success oppurtunity in today’s volatile market.
Someone once told me that there are two powers in life that we will have to deal with everyday. These two powers can never be controlled or stopped and that is TIME and CHANGE.
At the end of the day you have to remain resilient. I promise you will come out ahead!
